Haiaratu’s husband died of illness in 2019, leaving her to care for their five children alone. Disaster struck again on the night of July 10, 2020, when extremists attacked her village, forcing her family to flee for their lives.
Haiaratu lost her grain stores, animals and her home in the attack. In the process of fleeing the oncoming extremists, she also lost her baby daughter.
Now, Haiaratu is trying to come to grips with her loss, while supporting her other four young children.
Heavenly Father, may You bring a covering of protection over Haiaratu and her family. Please bring them peace. We pray that You provide for them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“Tell them you don’t know me!” This is what Chalpona, a Christian woman in Central Asia told her two sons as they beat her and ransacked her home.
Local ministry partners report that Chalpona is the only Christian in her family, and her sons are in high offices of their country’s government. Afraid coworkers would find out their mother follows Jesus - possibly resulting in jobs loss, harassment, or worse - they chose to threaten, attack, and damage her and her home so she would renounce Jesus.
Chalpona loves her children very much, and she told them if they worry about their reputation with others then claim they do not know her.
Pray for Chalpona and this heartbreaking situation.
